In wanting to capture the translucent sunlight on a rose—like a divine whisper glowing through its petals—I imagined how it would appear when gazing at it from the ground, looking upward. I later added the ladybird, a guardian of beauty, feeding on what would steal the rose’s glory. I painted what I saw, but more so what I felt: awe at God’s craftsmanship. The rose, like love, knows no borders or pride. It simply blooms, inviting us to do the same.…
In every brushstroke, I sought truth, working the oils to reflect the story of grace. The fragrance of this flower is a parable—God’s gentle call to tend our hearts, prune bitterness, and water with kindness. The rose doesn’t care who owns it; it just gives.
