In Flow of Light, I tried to make the light not only visible but also tangible. During the painting process, I felt like something was opening up inside me—as if an inner light source were penetrating outward and spreading throughout the space.
I work with hot, colored wax, which I apply in flowing movements. I let my intuition guide me. In this work, it was particularly important to me to capture the lightness and, at the same time, the power… of light—as if it were a living stream, forging its way through all the layers of paint.
The golden yellow and turquoise blue tones flow into one another, swirl, and dissolve. For me, the image is like a moment of transformation—a transition from darkness to light, from inside to outside. It invites us to become still and connect with our own inner source.
Ingeborg Ludwig, with a solid background in art, primarily uses encaustic, a hot wax technique, and acrylic painting. Her style is process-oriented, abstract, and strongly material-based, characterized by calming organic forms, seamless transitions, and multi-layered surfaces. Her artworks explore the invisible world of emotions and inner landscapes, inviting the viewer on an introspective journey to free themselves from the hustle and bustle of the external world. She addresses realms of change and resonance in a quiet, intuitive way to convey deep, moving emotional states.
