About this artwork
In Navigating the Inner Self, I take viewers on a visual journey into my own inner world. Multilayered color sequences and organic lines reflect the complexity of inner landscapes and emotions. The dense texture of the encaustic technique enhances the depth of the image and opens up space for personal reflection.
With this work, I address the search for orientation in a sea of sensations, thoughts, and unconscious currents – a process that I find… both challenging and liberating.
Navigating The Inner Self was part of the Vision-Canvas exhibition in Venice at the Palazzo Albrizzi Capello.

Ingeborg Ludwig, with a solid background in art, primarily uses encaustic, a hot wax technique, and acrylic painting. Her style is process-oriented, abstract, and strongly material-based, characterized by calming organic forms, seamless transitions, and multi-layered surfaces. Her artworks explore the invisible world of emotions and inner landscapes, inviting the viewer on an introspective journey to free themselves from the hustle and bustle of the external world. She addresses realms of change and resonance in a quiet, intuitive way to convey deep, moving emotional states.
