Where it Begins Again arose from my interest in transformation, growth, and cyclical processes. From a light green, an open, circular form develops, reminiscent of organic structures or a changing cycle.
I work with encaustic wax, allowing it to flow, fuse, and break apart again. This creates traces of movement and compression that cannot be completely controlled. This interplay between intuition and material is an essential part of my work.
For… me, the image speaks of an inner process of new beginnings – not as a clear end or beginning, but as a continuous becoming. Light, earth, growth, and dissolution remain simultaneously present.
The work was created in 2025 and presented in Milan at the ArteMida Gallery in the exhibition When They See Us.

Ingeborg Ludwig, with a solid background in art, primarily uses encaustic, a hot wax technique, and acrylic painting. Her style is process-oriented, abstract, and strongly material-based, characterized by calming organic forms, seamless transitions, and multi-layered surfaces. Her artworks explore the invisible world of emotions and inner landscapes, inviting the viewer on an introspective journey to free themselves from the hustle and bustle of the external world. She addresses realms of change and resonance in a quiet, intuitive way to convey deep, moving emotional states.
