In the ink drawing "Fool" I explore the play with masks as a state between wisdom and madness, in which deeper truths are hidden behind apparent ease.

From countless dots, circles, and curved lines emerges an oversized, clownish figure that appears mask-like and omnipresent. In relation to the small buildings depicted, the jester seems monumental, almost overwhelming, and simultaneously embedded in a seemingly chaotic… network of patterns. The reduced color palette draws attention to inner contrasts such as play and seriousness, order and chaos, and deception and truth.
