About this artwork
In the spirit of the work group LICHTUNGEN, in the oil painting "GARDEN OF EDEN" I create a dense wilderness in the middle of which a violet light rises hopefully as a symbol of upheaval and change in life. The expressive brushstrokes and an intensive texture as well as the strong red-green contrast stand for the symbolic liberation from individual belief and behavior patterns. Catalogue number 456
In the work group LICHTUNGEN, the term clearing… conveys an image with strong symbolic power: when something is cleared, space is created for something new. The process brings light into what may have previously been dark places. Metaphorically speaking, you often have to pull out trees in order to bring light into certain areas and enable insight.

Isabella Scharf-Minichmair works in oil and acrylic, inspired by her studio in the 1000-year-old Austrian castle Altpernstein. Historical contexts, fairy tales, myths and different pictorial traditions, as well as musical forms, are typical components of the painterly search for traces in an expressive style. Intuitive body lines and a deliberate choice of color create organically guided structures that reveal deep emotional layers and act as a journey through time and space.
