In color psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive color inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything will be okay. That's the feeling the artist will tell you she had while she was painting this piece. It was an interesting palette to consider, especially because her goal was to create something sophisticated enough that it could easily end up in the home of a male collector (but she sees it in a feminine setting too).…
“Gentlemen Prefer Pink” is 12” x 12” acrylic on birch wood panel, set in a natural maple wood floating frame. The subtle differences in this piece are achieved by building up multiple layers of acrylic paint on birch wood panels, then sanding and scratching back into the work to reveal ‘the history’ of the painting. The artist's process of layering and sanding adds richness and depth to the color and design. She is constantly responding to what’s happening as she paints. Please see detailed photos.

A 'highly collectable' artist, Isabelle's work is in the homes and offices of private collectors in Canada, Europe, China, South America and across the United States. She has been invited to show her work in 2025 for the forth consecutive year in the highly prestigious juried art show, the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts. Isabelle's work has also been seen in the art magazine American Art Collectors, she was the first ever abstract artist interviewed on the renowned PodCast the American Art Collective, and her work has been seen a host of Conde Nast magazines, including Vanity Fair, and World of Interiors.
