About this artwork
Isabelle's proccess is one of constantly responding to what she see happening as she paints. She builds land then scratches and sands back into layers of paint to reveal what she calls 'the history of the painting'. This is especially evident in this sophisticated piece. You will be able to see how she uses contrast in color values (light next to dark) to stir interest ias first glance. And then, when you look at the detial photos, you'll see how… she holds your attention by creating more intimate or quiet details that are only discovered when you get closer and closer to this painting. Isabelle finished this piece with a layer of cold wax, buffed to a beautiful smooth surface that doesn't reflect art lights or hot spots when lit. The edges reveal clean, natural birch wood, a perfect, a sophisticated contrast to the abstract design, not intended to hide in a frame. Isabelle has just released this piece from her private collection.
