About this artwork
This artist's ultimate aim in her work is that it makes the viewer feel joy - and we definitely feel that in this piece. When you look at this work, you'll see evidence of the artist's mastery of color and her sophistication using invented geometric shapes in contrast with loose, graceful lines and interesting marks.
The richness of her work comes from building up multiple layers of acrylic paint, then sanding and scratching back into the layers… to reveal what she calls ‘the history’ of the painting. Her process of requires that she work on a solid substrate, which is she paints on birch wood rather than canvas. She's constantly responding to what’s happening as she creates, looking for opportunities to bring different colors, lines, and shapes into focus. Some of her choices create loud contrasts and differences that she wants viewers to see from a distance, others draw the viewer’s eye to more intimate or quiet details, discovered when her work is viewed up close.

A 'highly collectable' artist, Isabelle's work is in the homes and offices of private collectors in Canada, Europe, China, South America and across the United States. Isabelle's work has also been seen in the art magazine American Art Collectors, she was the first ever abstract artist interviewed on the renowned PodCast the American Art Collective, and her work has been seen a host of Conde Nast magazines, including Vanity Fair, and World of Interiors.
