About this artwork
Early one morning, I was cruising the beach in Paje, on the island of Zanzibar. It was a time of intense introspection and I was choking back tears. The sky was crackling with a dark, heavy energy. Two women hurriedly scrambled into the water to tend to their seaweed pasture before the storm let loose. Seconds after I took this photographs the heavens opened.
