About this artwork

This is a combination of two strongly complimentary colors, gold and deep black while at the same time including another dimension of texture and depth. This majestic wall piece pulls the viewer in for discovery. It is unique to find contemporary metal wall sculpture online. It is always extremely interesting to find sculpture on a wall as apposed to standing on the floor. "A Study in Richness" is a fascinating piece to view at any point during… the day or under lighting at night. When I view this piece in the morning under natural sunlight it is entirely different a few hours on.

Jason Rhinevault primarily works with negative spaces and depth in his pieces. The American sculptor offsets some of his compositions from the back mounting plate, by as much as an inch, creating a visual illusion. The use of negative space and depth gives the viewer several aspects to consider. Rhinevault is drawn to metal, as a medium, for its strength and organic qualities. He considers the patina application as important as the welding process.
