About this artwork
"In the transformation of the abstract painting titled 'The Other Side of Hurt II,' I created a visually and emotionally compelling piece that serves as an evolution from the original work, 'Not MF You Hurt.'
It is a journey of artistic exploration and emotional growth. Layers of color are employed to overlap the original red, yellow, and black paint, creating a profound sense of depth and complexity. The addition of graphite marks further infuses… the composition with texture and depth.
While reworking this piece I experienced many revelations about the original inspiration, which was an incidence of being hurt by someone I considered to be my friend. Reimagining 'Not MF You Hurt' embodies for me, the human experience itself and a recognition that growth and healing require a transformation, a willingness to infuse something new and vibrant into one's existence. In this case, the artwork serves as a metaphor for this very transformation. #yellow #red #transformation #abstract
