About this artwork
My series "Patterns" consists of linocuts that constantly change through the layering of colors, creating ever-new visual effects. In individual sections, forms can be discerned, only to dissolve again in the next moment, evoking different associations. The multiple printings result in a vibrant, multi-layered visual language. The harmony of the color composition develops from fluid transitions that unfold from one side to the other.
The works… are conceived as coordinated series that together form a complete image. Each individual linocut is mounted on cardboard. The complete work consists of seven individual elements arranged together on a hardboard panel.
