About this artwork
I often paint the opera goers in the Glyndebourne gardens before the evening performance. The elegantly and often colourfully dressed people chatting in groups or walking across the lawns is a lovely composition to work from. The painting is enhanced by the shadows lengthening in the late afternoon sun.
