Quite a belligerent looking cow - I painted this from a photo I took and I was quite glad there was a fence and ditch between us! Lots of contrast and I like the composition including the fence, branches and the trunk of the tree which is quite textured. Love the rich browns of the cow too.
The original oil painting is sold, therefore the image is available as a high quality limited edition giclee print and comes unframed rolled in a tube. The… image size is 12" square plus a border of 2" either side, so 16" total. All prints are individually numbered, named and signed.
Jo Willis is a painter with a richly textured journey, beginning her artistic practice in her 50s after inheriting materials from her father and training in oils at various art academies. She employs oils, working with limited colour palettes and focusing on tonal contrast, expressive brushwork, and the dramatic interplay of sunlight and shadows. Her style blends sharp, unblended blocks of colour and strong compositions, often capturing people, animals, and nostalgic scenes. Her art radiates atmosphere and light, expressing the fleeting essence and emotional resonance of a moment remembered or imagined.
