About this artwork
This piece comes from the “Making Waves'' series, fuelled by my time spent at the Portuguese coast where I explored the deeply symbolic and sensual side of water. I created "Possessing And Caressing Me" through a slow, tactile process, working with a wide brush and allowing it to almost caress the ceramic surface. The movement of colour echoes the sensation of deep water — enveloping, weighty and intimate.
Layered bands of green, blue and warm yellow… unfold in a continuous rhythm, suggesting touch rather than force. I was interested in how repetition and softness can convey closeness, how a surface can hold the memory of a gesture.
In a space, this work brings a sensual, immersive presence. Its flowing composition invites the viewer into a quiet, bodily experience — one that is felt as much as it is seen.
