About this artwork
I had been carrying the idea for Soul to Soul for nearly a decade. Wildlife photography demands patience, with countless elements needing to fall into place for a truly powerful image to emerge. While walking alone across the plains of the Maasai Mara, this lioness almost stumbled upon a mating pair of lions. She noticed them at the last moment and shifted her path. opposite side and, with some luck, found a natural recess in the ground that allowed me to photograph her from a low perspective.
