About this artwork
Craig was an elephant known for his calm nature and gentle presence, qualities that made this elephant truly unforgettable. During this shoot, I set out to vary my approach, photographing both intimate close-ups using a wide-angle lens and wider frames that placed him within his surroundings. The image later became part of my limited edition elephant print collection and went on to be one of my most popular African wildlife prints. Craig passed away in January 2026, but this photograph continues to stand as a tribute to his quiet strength, dignity, and lasting presence in Amboseli.
