About this artwork
This work was created in oil by superimposing layers of several shades of blue ranging up to mauve gray. The objective was to create little contrast in order to increase the impression of abundance generated by the flowers. It is a dynamic work within which the energy circulates thanks to the choice of the square format. The gesture is lively and rapid; it increases the sensation of swirling. In the upper part, an arc of a circle gives its structure… to the work; this could symbolize the container of the flowers, (the handle of a basket during a flower battle?) left abstract so as not to direct the contemplation. The spectator remains free to decide what he sees.
Between abstraction and the evocation of reality, my works explore how matter, color, and gesture can convey experiences rather than fixed representations. Nature is omnipresent, not as a descriptive subject, but as a language. It becomes flow, vibration, and space. My work constructs a progressive reading of perception in 3 series. INNER LIGHT brings together luminous works in which floral forms are simplified to create living compositions, capable of engaging with contemporary spaces while retaining a strong pictorial identity. INNER LANDSCAPES explores landscapes as interior spaces in motion. Nature is suggested through fluid structures. Each work becomes a mental territory, between memory and perception. More conceptual in nature, STATES OF BECOMING explores the process of transformation of form. The works capture intermediate states between appearance and dissolution.
