About this artwork
He has used the technique of intentional camera movement to capture and create an image that portrays the movement of a fixed object but lends itself to a kinetic energy by virtue of its shape and form. The image was acquired at night which afforded the opportunity to present the image as a flat object against a plain dark background and to enhance the colour the illuminations.

John Brooks is a British visual artist who is currently living and working in Bristol, UK. Through his photography, Brooks wishes to project a visual and emotional response that extends far beyond the pictorial. His photographs, both analogue and digital, often employ a layering affect where a subject becomes doubled or tripled, thereby creating an illusion of volume, depth and spatiality. His photographs can reflect the imposing nature of urbanism and play with perspective to create an illusory world.
His other works include well though through abstract studies and minimalist works, some architectural and some topographical.
