About this artwork

The crisp, cool air of fall is calming to my spirit. The shadows grow long, and the changing foliage sends a signal to my psyche that nature is about to rest a bit. It hints about patience, and that new awakenings are just around the corner. Its also at this time that the fall wildflower, Goldenrod, takes over much of the landscape in Northern Michigan transforming fields into brilliant yellow blankets swaying in the breeze.
This image stems from… a scene outside of Sanilac, just off Lake Huron, in Michigan's thumb area. Beautiful layers of foliage covered the area and various other wildflowers dotted the landscape fighting for space amongst the fields of Goldenrod. The leaves have not yet fallen, so the site was a literal cornucopia of texture and color from top to bottom.
