My fiercest art critic and beloved wife titled this work which she likes to do when I complete a painting that truly impresses her. To me, this is another breakthrough work that adds yet another layer to my painting technique. The oil is thicker than ever before (as my passion dictates) yet responsive to my every brush… stroke. The process is refining from a street brawl to a gentle aggression, an understanding of something greater, and, with that said, giving a deep respect for the medium.
The imagery again comes from my place of peace, Sans Souci on Lake Huron. With the COVID lockdown I am forbidden from going there until this is all over, so I work from photos of my time there from last season.
