About this artwork
I balance my acrylics with landscape based oils. The works are ultra-impasto and represent a language of color and form, highlighted by texture, and imply a subliminal relationship between the complexity of, and seemingly randomness to, nature.
I just completed another trip up north and was awestruck by the colors. This work is of an open field of wildflowers as they crashed together during another typical fall windy, grey day. The grey skies of… fall offer a different light than that of the spring and summer and allow color to come forth in a more powerful way. It struggles more, competes more and explodes onto my canvases as I interpret the energy of the last blooms of the season.
