About this artwork

We have always liked to have goals, seek challenges that keep our motivation alive. So it is in all aspects of life. The same thing happens in the world of engineering. Sometimes you have to overcome slopes, others cross a mountain, others cross a river... Works that seem to have no solution but that with the cunning and ingenuity of some are managed to solve creatively. I, as a painter and civil engineer, have always liked to mix both themes to… seek an artistic approach to these impossible constructions, so that I can bring out the most human, artistic and plastic side that is hidden behind them. This work shows the emblematic viaduct built over the Ulla river in Galicia (Spain). A complex engineering work due to the dimensions and unevenness that it had to overcome. It shows a sunset in the middle of the construction phase, in which the last rays of the sun illuminate the main part of the bridge, showing us all the charm of the work.
