About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the playful and enigmatic essence of the dog, using the contrast of light and shadow to give it a metaphysical and symbolic feel. The combination of oil and vinyl creates a texture that intensifies the animal's presence, like a guardian between two worlds. I wanted to convey the blend of joy and mystery, inviting reflection and enjoyment in any space.
It is necessary to point out that the canvas has a slight elongation… in one of its sections (91 x 90 x 90 x 90), which aims to give a dynamic impulse to the composition, which is subtly perceived in the architectural space where the work will be exhibited.

Juan Miguel Restrepo Valdés, a Colombian painter, draftsman, and engraver, combines his training in architecture and art from Colombia, Germany, and Austria. He masters symbolism, experimenting with techniques from the great masters and fusing European influences with South American magical realism, while also incorporating elements of surrealism and the baroque. His work, inspired by mythology and religion, introduces the mysterious and enigmatic into everyday life.
