While waiting in my car, this sweet bird landed on a pillar in front of me. It seemed very familiar with the location and didn't mind the intrusion of people and cars all around. I studied it for a moment, then quickly took a photo. In the painting, I wanted to capture a quiet moment of stillness and color amidst the stone. Using watercolor and gouache, I layered soft textures and vibrant hues to bring the bird’s subtle beauty alive. This work…
