About this artwork
I am inspired by flowers as symbols of beauty, mystery, and the spiritual in general. As living elements they symbolize growth and evolution. For the colours I used in this creation I was inspired by the colour interaction in the paintings of Sonia Delaunay, one of my favourite artists. The central parts are made with embroidery and three-dimensional weaving in order to make the flower come out of the canvas, as it it were a living element.
