About this artwork
In this piece, I expressed tranquillity and contemplation through the interplay of cotton, wool and varying textile techniques. The soft textures and minimalist geometric forms capture a serene, almost ethereal quality. Sculptured flowing yarns induce a sense of calm through the creative use of the artist’s own yarn cones that once supported the yarns with which the artworks are created. The cone shape as an element that can channel sound waves inspired…
the name of the collection. I chose a restrained colour palette to emphasize purity and calmness. Hanging this artwork in a home invites a peaceful ambiance, making any space a meditative retreat, encouraging viewers to pause and reflect amidst their busy lives.
