About this artwork
The first artwork of my Specular series was made to participate in the open call for the Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art 2023. The theme of the open call was the search for our own identity and the confrontation with others. This artwork was selected among the 10 open call finalists at Florence Biennale 2023 and was the only textile artwork among the finalists. With my first Specular artwork I won the Special Commendation Award 2023, given…
to me by the President of Florence Biennale. My Specular artworks reveal confronting portraits with different states of mind, often in contrasting colours. These artworks celebrate the uniqueness of every single person and the acceptance of our differences.
