About this artwork
Fauvism is the style of Les Fauves (French for "the wild beasts"), a group of early twentieth-century Modern artists whose works emphasized painterly qualities and strong color over the representational or realistic values retained by Impressionism. Julia Hacker is working in that style, using rich color to describe light and space and to communicate her strong emotions. The image of a wild animal (panter? tiger? lion?) in the setting of the lush…
jungle is a metaphor for inner feminine power, waiting to be unleashed. Love and Passion. Original oversized artwork is completed in acrylic, it is shipped in the tube due to its size.
