About this artwork
For four years, I have been on a quest to deliver an ode to sunlight, on the lookout for the moment of grace that manifests itself in the most innocuous things, at the discretion of the viewer. Collected in the observation of tenuous and ephemeral details within everyone's reach but which escape the distracted passer-by, I tried to apply the adage that beauty lies in the gaze, here and now in hope as the planets align, ready to capture the “picture”…
before it falls apart. May the smallest subject, however insignificant, be able to access grace, the sacred, blessed by light! Light as subject and source of inspiration, knowledge, dazzling, illuminations and awakenings. Light that unveils, multiplies, reveals, pulsates, envelops, layers, halos of mystery or burns the retina. Operate the alchemical process, light that becomes matter, matter that becomes gold! J.B.
