About this artwork
This work is part of my ongoing exploration of impermanence, memory, and the space between what is felt and what is seen.
Created on the shores of Maui, this photograph was inspired by the feeling of the island waking. That quiet in-between moment when sleep has not fully left, when the world begins to come into focus but still feels suspended between dream and reality.
Like us when we first open our eyes, nothing is immediately sharp. Forms soften,… movement drifts, and reality arrives gradually.
I was not interested in documenting Maui with precision, but in expressing its presence as something living, breathing, and slowly awakening.
For me, Reverie exists in that liminal space between dream and waking life, where emotion becomes stronger than detail.
This work invites the viewer to drift there, if only for a moment.
