About this artwork
Memory Beyond the Choice This abstract composition reflects the emotional traces left behind after a decision is made. The vivid pink and red center suggests a moment of intensity, while surrounding fragments—scribbles, grids, and layered textures—echo the complexity of thought and memory. Architectural lines and handwritten marks hint at personal and urban histories, blending chaos with quiet structure. It is a visual meditation on how choices resonate… beyond the moment, leaving behind silent impressions that continue to unfold.
I am an abstract painter based in Berlin, working with layers of washi tape, torn edges, and quiet color fields. My practice explores the space between silence and expression — a place where inner emotion and outer reality begin to resonate. Through layered surfaces and subtle shifts of texture, I create compositions that feel like vibrations held in stillness. Each work carries a quiet energy, inviting the viewer into a moment of pause — a lightness in the chest that cannot be fully explained. My approach is rooted in years of working with paper, collage, and the physical act of layering. Before moving to Berlin, I was the first Japanese resident artist at Kunsthaus Tacheles, an experience that shaped my understanding of art as dialogue and shared space. Every painting is an attempt to create such a space — a place where something unnamed can be felt.
