About this artwork
A tear that someone tried to stitch — not to mend, but to hide.
The work reflects the illusion of repair, the kind of relationships that hold together only by fragile threads of pretense. The golden surface suggests calm and harmony that exist merely on display, concealing a wound no one truly wants to face.
The piece is sewn with a soft pink thread, creating a subtle contrast against the green felt — a symbolic gesture of reconciling conflicting… emotions. Metal pins appear as traces of an attempt to control the material, as if stability could be forced into place.
It is a reflection on pretend order and the desire to appear whole, even when everything inside remains torn.
Kamila Fugowska is self-taught and works primarily with bold colors, painting on canvas, inspired by a deep, spiritual search for self-knowledge and healing. Focusing on abstract, partly geometric, partly free-form compositions, she combines intense color—particularly orange as a symbol of God—with minimalist forms and meaningful stillness. Her works are bridges to the inner world, convey trust and security, and invite the viewer to release their own emotions and experience a moment of spiritual peace.
