About this artwork
I shot this from low on the bank, keeping the dark trunks in the foreground so the opening reads like a doorway onto the water. I exposed for the reflection and let the rest fall to silhouette — that's what gives the pond its glow. But this place stopped me. The stillness felt like reverence, the pines bowing into their own reflections, and I pressed the shutter quietly, the way you lower your voice in a room that already feels sacred.
