About this artwork

An exceptional painting for a remarkable young woman - commissioned by her mother for the young girl's birthday. She loves horses and is full of interesting ideas and wisdom about being young and a girl.
I used tempera, and it was a hell of a job to achieve what I wanted. I have not mastered tempera yet, but I am working on it. It is in the Romanesque style, and only one horse is realistic, like Da Vinci's. It has the demure of an old fresco, in… which the paint is fading. Both the mother and the daughter are delighted with the painting.
