About this artwork
This work unfolds a haunting tension between linear horizon surfaces and organically grown circular forms. The bright neon reds, which combine with earthy green-yellow nuances, create a modern, energetic balance between lightness and grounding. The calligraphic circular fragments, illegible and therefore (or despite?) multi-layered, form a contrast to the calm, horizontal composition like fleeting islands of thought. This creates fields that not… only convey abstract depth and dynamism, but also make the imperfection and meditative focus tangible. The viewer must therefore decide whether they perceive calm or energy. In this respect, the motif and the color scheme play with the situation in which the audience finds themselves.
For Katharina Stegmeier, art is far more than decoration—it is both a message and a skill. As a child, she drew diaries before she could write, thus developing her creative expressiveness early on. Her works reflect the ambivalences of our time, social issues, and the complexity of life.
In her works, she combines intense expressiveness with calm reflection, structure with freedom. Contrasts play a central role, often symbolized by the colorful "counterpoint," which acts as an anchor to maintain the balance of her compositions and underscore their messages.
Katharina Stegmeier's works invite you to slowly immerse yourself in them. Those who embrace their rhythm discover worlds between layering and transparency, between formal fragments and emotional imprints—works that linger long after the viewer has turned away.
