In the warm countryside of Batangas, Philippines, I found a small nursery where rows of vivid bougainvillea stretch toward the horizon. A simple shelter stands quietly among them, framed by tall coconut palms and distant hills beneath a wide tropical sky.
No people are visible, yet their presence is felt—in the laundry swaying behind the trees, in the rows of carefully tended flowers, in the fabric draped over the roof. It’s a portrait of labor… and calm, rooted in place.
Part of my Urban & Rural Scenes series, this image reflects human presence through atmosphere and trace rather than direct visibility.
Captured with a Leica M11, it’s printed on 16.5 x 23.4 inch Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta paper using archival pigment inks. Each open-edition print is hand-signed and includes a certificate of authenticity.
Bring the quiet warmth of rural Philippines into your space.
Kevin Moore, primarily self-taught, presents a life absorbed in film photography since the late '70s. Building from a foundation of drawing and painting, his street photography intertwines classical art training with elements of Japan's daily life, reflecting unrelentingly on his environment. His captured moments, vacant yet filled with resilience and character, concoct ordinary narratives with a quiet, poignant resonance of familiarity and reflection.
