About this artwork
In this large-scale abstract painting, I set out to capture the quiet, changing atmosphere of a Swiss morning. Wrapped in soft, warm golden hues, ochres, and misty pinks, my composition evokes the stillness of a serene alpine landscape as sunlight breaks through lingering mountain mist.
I used dynamic, sweeping strokes and raised impasto textures that flow seamlessly across fluid, translucent glazes, creating a tactile surface full of life and… movement. Pockets of rich magenta, emerald green, and sunny yellow peek through the soft layers, reminiscent of wild meadow blooms scattered across high pastures.
My intention was to blend rhythmic energy with gentle balance, offering a comforting sense of warmth and space. Painted on high-quality stretched canvas (135 x 100 cm), this original piece brings an uplifting, natural light and a touch of alpine serenity into contemporary interiors.

Hi, my name is Kristina "Kiki" Spring (née Kucerova). Born in former Czechoslovakia, I studied literature and fine arts at Comenius University in Bratislava before moving to the United States and eventually settling in Switzerland. Living between cultures has profoundly shaped my perspective, inspiring an ongoing exploration of identity, memory, and emotional landscapes.
Today, my studio practice is dedicated to expressive abstract landscapes and intuitive compositions. My work reads as a series of playful cartographies, unfolding like aerial maps to hidden treasures. Grounded in a signature warm golden palette inspired by autumnal light, each piece invites the viewer on an imaginary journey across abstract topographies.
