About this artwork
This oil painting was created to honor one of my favorite flowers—the graceful and majestic delphinium. Painted from a reference photo of a lavender delphinium blooming in my own garden, this piece captures the delicate strength and towering presence of this beloved perennial.
Rising proudly on a tall canvas, the composition mirrors the flower’s natural height—often reaching between four and six feet in the garden. Set against a pure white background,… the elegant lavender spikes take center stage, allowing their subtle hues and intricate details to radiate serenity and grace.
Part of my Contemporary Botanical Series, this work celebrates the beauty of a single bloom in all its glory—a quiet monument to nature’s elegance and resilience. “Mount Delphinium” seemed the perfect name for this vertical celebration of height, harmony, and refined simplicity.
