About this artwork
This piece was inspired by an intuitive writing workshop exercise.
After getting into a meditative state, we did a visualization exercise and then a journalling exercise to capture what we visualized.
I wrote about how I saw a white rose with gold and silver reflections from droplets of water and it felt like the rose was under water.
The number 42 also came up in this exercise.
While this painting is quite different from my normal work, I wanted… to trust the intuition process and create it and I added gold foil and silver foil to capture the reflection off the water droplets around the rose's petals.
This piece is a reminder"stop to smell the roses". To remember to slow down and enjoy the present moment.
