About this artwork
Vertigo was painted in the space between arrival and the next horizon. But the vertigo is not about falling. It is about elegance — the kind that stops a room.
A dark dress. Black folds cascading like an evening sky, champagne and beige warming the fabric from within. And at the centre — a single cobalt blue brooch, radiating fine lines like an intake of breath. One detail. Everything else in service of it.
I built the dark ground in heavy layers… of acrylic, then sealed the surface in epoxy resin. The resin turned the black passages liquid and reflective — like silk under low light. The cobalt blue was the last gesture, drawn fast while the resin was still setting. A risk that became the whole painting.
This is not a painting about fashion. It is a painting about how one detail changes everything.
