About this artwork
My sweet is a work that I realized around the work of Klimt, it is inspired by the Beethoven frieze kept in Vienna.
This sculpture is in hammered steel wire and also worked with gold leaf.
My sweet is the last sculpture in my series around Klimt, It is an important work for me, for the time and the emotion that I gave it, but it also translates the soul of my work, sweetness, poetry, mystery and lightness ...
All the work with gold leaf, is done… by hand, thread by thread, I cut, pose, gently roll up gold leaf on the lines that I wish to underline. The gold is then varnished so that it lasts over time.
"My sweet" has been exhibited in many exhibition venues (Paris, Versailles, Honfleur, Château de Draveil, Manoir de la Vove (Perche), Bellême ..)

« When I conceive my sculptures, I see them first springing up in my imagination in the form of intersecting lines. »
Laure Simoneau is a prizewinning, established French sculptor who has exhibited her work extensively. Her sculptures are made with steel and use delicate lines and negative space to create innovative portraits. Simoneau's sculptures are reminiscent of art deco work of the 1920s and 30s, especially as it appeared in illustrated and printed works. In a contemporary context, Simoneau's work also aligns with line drawing, a minimalist style which the artist brings into full effect in three dimensional form.
