French artist Laurent Allory, born in 1973, is currently working and living in Paris. His work mixes photography and painting, and has recently been focussed on urbanism and abandoned places.
From advertising to painting
After his studies in Plastic Arts at l’Académie Charpentier in Paris, Allory went into visual communication and worked in advertising as an artistic director. However, when he went to an exhibition, he decided to return to his first love: painting. He began to explore abstraction and today he mixes photography with painting, allowing him to give life to his photographic work and develop his own artistic world. His artistic search centres on varied themes, from African art to European modern art.
