About this artwork
After packing our gear, we set off on snowshoes, quickly sinking into the snow. Our goal was to reach an ice cave located 10 kilometers away. Along the way, we cross a freshly frozen creek, utilizing techniques like the crab crawl and the fireman's carry to safely make it across. To steer clear of an avalanche chute, we chose to bypass the trail and ventured into the forest. This turns out to be a great decision, as we got to embrace our inner childhood…
by butt-sliding down a hill for some fun. Partway up the moraine, we find shelter from the cold breeze in a small snow canyon. Feeling inspired, I began searching for interesting visual stories. In capturing this moment, I feel the flowing lines of the snow evoke a sense of calm and mystery, inviting viewers to explore the interplay of light and shadow. For me, it sparks curiosity and wonder as I try to imagine what the shapes of the snow reminded me of.
