About this artwork
We set out on one of my favorite hikes during warm spring weather. Despite the pleasant temperatures, we soon found ourselves wading through waist-high snow, which hindered our attempts to reach the second and third tarns located several hundred meters above us. However, we still enjoyed the serene beauty of the first tarn. After capturing a few playful portraits of my friends, I turned my attention to the breathtaking landscape around me. That's…
when I noticed a distinctive shape in the snow—two trees artfully positioned on the mountain slope, beautifully sculpted by nature. I wanted to capture this raw moment of solitude and contrast, emphasizing the stark beauty of the scene in black and white. The small trees stand resilient against the vast, textured expanse, symbolizing strength in the face of isolation. It serves as an inspiration for how we can overcome the sadness of feeling alone.
