About this artwork
This painting was born from a moment of stillness, when the sea felt more like a memory than a place. I kept returning to the image of a single blue bird, carrying something invisible across the water – a message, a feeling, a fragment of a dream. A stylized bird glides above layered blue depths, its patterned wings catching quiet light, while the abstract water below suggests both sea and inner landscape, inviting the viewer to pause, breathe, and… listen to what moves beneath the surface. As I painted, the bird became a symbol of those quiet inner messages we all carry but don’t always know how to express. The layered blues and patterns echo the movement of waves and thoughts, flowing and overlapping. For me, this work is about trusting that what wants to emerge from within us will eventually find its way into the world.
Leldé BRAKE-KLAVERI is a professional artist from Latvia. She graduated from the Latvian Academy of Fine Arts and also studied at AKI (Netherlands). Her works have been exhibited in Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Spain. In 2021, she received a diploma from the USA Online Art Gallery as a winner of the "Landscape 2025" competition and was awarded a prize at the International Jury Art Competition in Malaysia. Leldé primarily works by combining painting techniques with graphic elements using manual screen printing. His work often revisits themes of the duality of the world and the interaction of opposites (day/night, man/woman, nature/urbanization). Nature, filtered through his imagination and personal values, is frequently his source of inspiration.
