About this artwork
'Path to the River. May' is my first plein air painting of the year. In this work, I wanted to capture a quiet May moment when the landscape feels fresh and full of life: light moving through blooming trees, a soft wind in the air, and the clear blue sky above the path.
The path in the painting leads toward the river, but it also creates a sense of movement and quiet reflection. For me, it represents the feeling of walking into nature and becoming… more aware of its atmosphere and light. I was especially interested in painting the changing spring colors, the filtered daylight, and the calm balance between the open path and the surrounding trees.
Painting outdoors gave me the opportunity to respond directly to the scene as it changed in front of me. I wanted the painting to preserve the feeling of that day — simple, fresh, and peaceful, with the special clarity that early spring can bring.
