About this artwork
The painting "Messenger Bird" (120x80cm, oil on canvas) is included in my art series "Sea and Birds". In my artistic conception, the sea is a symbol of stability and eternity while the bird represents freedom and fragility. In this work, I used oil to explore freedom and time that begins through the stylized motif of a bird in flight. Leldé BRAKE-KLAVERI is a professional artist from Latvia. She graduated from the Latvian Academy of Fine Arts and also studied at AKI (Netherlands). Her works have been exhibited in Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Spain. In 2021, she received a diploma from the USA Online Art Gallery as a winner of the "Landscape 2025" competition and was awarded a prize at the International Jury Art Competition in Malaysia.
Leldé primarily works by combining painting techniques with graphic elements using manual screen printing. His work often revisits themes of the duality of the world and the interaction of opposites (day/night, man/woman, nature/urbanization). Nature, filtered through his imagination and personal values, is frequently his source of inspiration.
