In this work the artist wanted to represent the conflict that often arises between man and nature. An artificial structure broken in two by an earthquake and from whose cracks life is born. However destructive the force of nature is, it always leads to the birth of life. Nature is not conflictual, it is man who cannot accept the indifference with which not only nature but the universe itself relate to human life. We are part of a whole and at the… same time we try to separate ourselves from it. The work is made on two wooden supports assembled together in some points. (the cracks reveal in some places a void that partially reveals the color of the background on which the work is hung. If for example the work is hung on a red wall, between the two cracks you will see the red of the wall). Two leaves of a synthetic fern sprout from the cracks. The whole structure is covered with aluminum foil.
« I am a serial accumulator. From time to time, the objects and materials I collect call me. It is time to start working. »
Lele De bonis is an established artist from Italy whose work has been featured in solo and group shows internationally. The basis of his work is always centered around the human being, representing aspects of society in a realistic or conceptual way.
